HTC Touch Pro 2 vs Moto Droid

So, I spouted off several posts back on how great my HTC Touch Pro 2 was over my previous Windows Mobile phone, the HTC Fuze… now I’m going to spew a completely different truth; verizon-motorola-droid1Android > Windows Mobile && Droid > TP2.

HTC has a great thing going for them… their hardware is solid, and looks fantastic. The TP2′s keyboard is by far the best on any smartphone I’ve seen. Because of this ONE positive, it was a hard decision for me to cut over to the Droid. The Droid’s keyboard, without mincing words, is utterly horrid. The keys are far too small and close together, the top row is butted-up too close to the sliding screen, the 5-way d-pad is just in the way (IMHO)… argh!

So why did I switch if I hate part of it so much? I hate Windows Mobile even more.

Android 2.0 kicks the biscuit on Windows Mobile 6.1 (or any version of WinMo for the matter). It’s so much more stable, and responsive.

If only the Android were available on the TP2… There is a porting project, but, I’m not about to wait a year for it to fail.

My advice? Ditch the WinMo phones and get ANYTHING with Android.
