Social Networking; Combine, Condense

I’ve dabbled in combining a few of my social networking accounts, just because I don’t want to log into all of them to post an update [the same update] on each one. The only two I’ve combined so far, are Twitter and Facebook. I added the Twitter app to my Facebook account, then added the TwitterBar plug-in to Firefox; both get updated from my address bar. Yay… Done.

Ping.fm is a bit different; much more broad. They’ve taken the Meebo approach and made it so you log into each through their interface, and the site processes the updates you submit– basically, the site logs into each of your accounts, for you, as you, and post the updates from one to all the others you’ve added to your Ping account. I was really surprised at the number of sites they support.

Still not sure if I’d actually use this though… I often regret setting up Meebo. :/ Anyone have any thoughts?
