The tempo on this track is a perfect match for the melody. This song gives a feeling of a chilly summer night, crickets chirping and all– the title says it all… ARENA! About half way through, it peaks, and sends you sailing. The melody is just beautiful. The song is a little lengthy, but, that’s the great thing about trance; you buy the ticket, you take the ride… and what a great ride it is!
Magikal – Opus Arena (Liquid Vision’s Big Arena Remix)
This mix is a bit faster than the original, and rightly so. It wastes no time getting your attention and drawing you in. It’s got a nice, powerful bass-kick that sets the tone for body of the track. One draw back in my eyes is that it doesn’t utilize the hook/melody from the original much. It’s got the beat that motivates, that’s for damn sure. I like the almost Psy vibe it has… Not a bad tune to have around, especially if you need to get something done or get pumped up for a work out.
Magikal – Opus Arena (Ben Hunt Remix)
Proper respect to the melody from the original put this mix near the top with me. There is enough likeness to the original to allow you to recognize it as a rework, but also enough difference leading you to believe it could be an original. Ben’s techy, meets trance, meets house method really works. The climax was split into two pieces, which makes this song really fun to listen to. You get a taste of what’s to come, a small break, then a tug back to where it left off. Very nice.
Magikal – Opus Arena (C J Peeton Remix)
The original gave the feeling of a chilly summer night, and this is the morning after. You’ve got the birds (they’re in the other mixes, but… you can’t tell, really, what it is) that you can clearly hear, then the anticipation [of the sunrise]. The keys at the beginning of the track bring a feeling of anxiety; what’s coming?!?!?? [where's the sun?!?] It’s got a similar bassline to the Ben Hunt remix, slightly lower. Another keeper.
Magikal – Opus Arena (Light Sequence Remix)
I LOVE this remix. Very well done. It’s a very calm but intense start, leading to a feel good anxiety pool, similar to what Peeton’s had, but much more focused. The emphasis put on the melody, and added drumming to telegraph the peak moments… AHH! It’s genius! The whole track is just so smooth. Definitely a tune that deserves recognition. Uplifting, and very sexy.

I was really pleased with this pre-release and I’m looking forward to the official release. Can’t wait to see what people think, and I’m sure everyone at DIR feels the same.
